Red Deer & District SPCA relies on memberships to assist with general facility operation costs. We also require input from our members so that we can best meet the needs of the many homeless animals and the community.

Open to all community citizens. You must be a member to vote.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
Without our volunteers we could not exist.  In conjunction with our Annual General Meeting we invite our many valued volunteers to join us for an evening of dinner and entertainment to show our gratitude for their commitment to our organization. 

April
Volunteer Appreciation Week
In April Canada celebrates national volunteer week.  The Red Deer community sponsors volunteer appreciation events throughout the city.  Please contact your volunteer coordinator for more information.   

May
Be Kind to Animals Week
Schools have access to many educational activities that promote “kindness.” Certainly one way to address bullying that is so prevalent in our community today.

Annual Garage Sale
This is the largest garage sale in Red Deer.  Donate those items around the house that you have been "needing to deal with," as they will certainly become someone’s treasures.  The location has changed this year and will be at the All Sports Replay building (5237 - 54 Ave. just West of Cannery Row Bingo). The sale will be May 29, 30 & 31, 2009 and we will start accepting items Saturday, May 2 at that location.  The hours of the sale are as follows: Friday May 29th from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, Saturday May 30th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Sunday May 31st from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. We are NOT taking clothing, shoes, computers, old TVs, fridges, stoves, washers, dryers.  Items must be dropped off as we are unable to arrange pickups.  We will be needing volunteers to assist in sorting during the month of May.  If you have any questions or are looking for additional information or are interested in volunteering at the garage sale please call Brenda at 403-309-6374.

*Update May 28,2009*  We will no longer be taking any items, so we can begin to sort and price the generous amount already donated this year. Thanks to all who donated items this year.  

Critters for Hope Silent Auction
An opportunity for businesses to support Red Deer & District SPCA as well as promote their business in a fun way.

SPCA Casino Sunday, June 6th and Monday, June 7th, 2010. People interested in volunteering for the event can contact Stan McCarthy at stanmc@shaw.ca or phone the Red Deer and District SPCA office

Bark at the Bend
A fun filled, action packed day for the WHOLE family. This is Red Deer & District SPCA’s largest fundraiser of the year. Participants collect pledges.

October 
Blessing of the Animals
In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of all animals.

Humane Education Week
A week set aside that encourages respect, empathy and compassion.

November/December
Pictures with Santa 
You can have your family picture taken in time for Christmas in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Pet Gift Baskets
A wonderful way to remember your own pets at Christmas as well as remembering Red Deer & District SPCA critters with your support.
