Our Mission
Vision
An educated, responsible and engaged society that inspires respect and compassion for all animals while honouring their entitlement to the five essential freedoms:
• Freedom from thirst, hunger and malnutrition - by ready access to fresh water and a diet to maintain full health and vigor.
• Freedom from discomfort - by providing a suitable environment including shelter and a comfortable resting area.
• Freedom from pain, injury and disease - by prevention or rapid diagnosis and treatment.
• Freedom to express normal behavior - by providing sufficient space, proper facilities and company of the animals own kind.
• Freedom from fear and distress - by ensuring conditions that avoid mental suffering
Mission
Our humane Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is an animal care and humane education centre. We create a legacy of caring by providing a safe refuge for the lost and unwanted animals of central Alberta. We foster respect for life by advocating inherent worth, compassion and dignity. In pursuit of responsible pet ownership and by working in collaboration with our community and partner agencies we inspire change.
