Volunteering with the SPCA
OUR ROLE
In order to expand and enhance the services and programs that the SPCA provides to the animals and community, and provide a satisfying service experience for volunteers, the SPCA strives to place volunteers within our organization based on volunteers' time, commitment, skills, and interests. Volunteers give our organization the ability to stretch limited budgeted dollars and improve the lives of the animals.
OUR VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are a big part of the Red Deer & District SPCA. We need volunteers to help with our events and also to assist with everyday operations. All of the jobs we have to do are important to us and especially to the animals. It is critical for the animals to have a clean healthy environment to live in, and to have the human contact they deserve.
HOW TO VOLUNTEER
Most volunteer positions require you to be at least 18, if you are younger and are interested in helping the animals, why not bring Pennies for Paws to your school? For more information click here.
Anyone interested in volunteering with the Red Deer & District SPCA is invited to complete a volunteer application package, which is available at our front office. When the application is completed, please return it to the Receptionist at our facility. You will be contacted to discuss current volunteer opportunities.
Volunteer Coordinator
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, screening, and referring volunteers to supervisors and coordinators within the SPCA. The coordinator acts as a liaison between the volunteers and staff and is available to volunteers should any problems, questions or concerns arise regarding a volunteer position or should a volunteer desire reassignment. Please feel free to contact the coordinator at any time.
